How is Azepur99® azelaic acid produced?

Azepur99® is obtained through oxidative cleavage of the double bond of the oleic chain in the triglyceride of sunflower oil. After several purification steps the material is micro-milled into a fine, free-flowing powder. The result is Azepur99®, a high-purity azelaic acid suitable for personal care products.
